"We want to develop our facility into a 24 hour delivery center but due to the poor electricity supply this has no been possible. We are not able to use equipment like an autoclave, suction machines, or even lights. With the solar system we shall be able to provide better and safer service."
-Jayagadh Clinic Director
Jayagadh Health Clinic is located in the rural Achham District of Nepal. It is a 20 minute drive, or more commonly, a one hour walk, from Bayalpata Hospital, where more complicated cases are referred. Prior to the SunFarmer solar installation Jayagadh Clinic had only a few hours of low quality grid energy per day, meaning they were unable to effectively treat many of their patients.
The SunFarmer team held a meeting attended by 26 community members, who then formed a 5-person "Solar Task Force Committee" to oversee maintenance of the solar system.
