Mike Lord

Mike Lord leads the Corporate Services group at Northland Power, an independent power producer with clean and renewable energy assets in North America and Europe.  In his role, Mike leads corporate strategic planning, business planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives, as well as a team of experts in communications, government relations, and First Nation relations.  He works closely with his colleagues to develop and implement plans to deliver the company’s long term strategy. 

Prior to this role, Mike was General Manager of Renewable Power Development.  In addition to his other management accountabilities in that role, he led the due diligence process in the acquisition of a majority interest in Project Gemini, €2.8 billion offshore wind farm currently under construction off the coast of the Netherlands.  In his previous role of General Manager, Solar Development, Mike led a team that developed and financed a $700 million solar power portfolio in Ontario, Canada.  

Mike’s global perspective was developed through years of work, travel and study in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He holds a combined honours B.A. in History and Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
