Avishek Malla

Director of Engineering and Operations

Avishek has extensive hands-on experience with off-grid solar PV systems in Nepal and other international markets. His experience includes various roles in industry, government, and academia.  Avishek has been involved in over 300 solar off-grid projects that include installations on hospitals, commercial buildings, and government facilities.

He has been a pioneer in the development of solar in Nepal with his involvement in the largest rooftop solar PV system, first rooftop grid-tied system, multiple rural village electrification projects, and the installation of solar bus stops.  He has also authored several solar PV related papers and publications.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and diploma in Management from Kathmandu University and master’s degree in Renewable Energy from Murdoch University, Australia.

Kushal Gautam

Technical Officer

Kushal works as a Technical Officer in SunFarmer’s Nepal office. He served as an intern in Callaghan Innovation under Superconductivity and Energy Team, after which he returned to Nepal and began working as an Automation Engineer at a cement factory and a year after, joined SunFarmer. He has both research and industrial experience and enjoys working with control systems. 

Outside work, Kushal loves mountain-biking and making videos of his short trips. Kushal holds a degree in Mechatronics from Wellington Institute of Technology, New Zealand.

Shisher Shrestha

Project Manager

Shisher joined SunFarmer in January of 2016. As SunFarmer's Project Manager, Shisher is implementing a number of projects in Health, Agriculture, and Education sector. Shisher is highly motivated to eradicate energy poverty in Nepal with clean energy from Solar and he wants to make an impact on the lives of Nepalese people living in the most rural parts of Nepal. Since joining SunFarmer, Shisher has implemented over130 kWp Solar Projects.

Shisher is an M.Sc. graduate from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Germany with major in Renewable Energy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Kathmandu Engineering College, IOE.

Outside of work, Shisher enjoys photography, travel, and formula one.

Outside of work, Shisher enjoys photography, travel, and cricket. He hopes to photograph the most remote parts of Nepal during his time at SunFarmer.

Swikriti Sulpya

Administrative and Finance Manager

Swikriti began her career at SunFarmer Nepal in August of 2015, soon after she graduated. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Finance from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, India. Swikriti Sulpya is SunFarmer’s Administrative and Finance Manager in the Nepal office with amalgamation of professional outreach in areas of finance and administrative.

She has an experience as an event coordinator at Craft Art Studio and banking experience fromNepal Investment Bank Limited as an intern. She previously has volunteered in programs organized by Godavari Alumni Association and worked as ajunior teacher in 2009.

She believes life is a journey and true happiness is found in traveling and exploring new places.

Sambaddha Pradhan

Project Development Engineer

Sambaddha is a mechanical engineer with experience in the field of Solar Power, Hydro Power and Biogas. He has worked as a Consultant at Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) reviewing technical development proposals.  He has management and operation experience on various alternative energy projects. For his final year project, he set the benchmark by designing and fabricating a diesel hybrid car, the first for his university.

When he has time, Sambaddha likes to travel and follow sports. He is a passionate fan of F. C. Barcelona. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from the Philippines.

Yubar Ratna Bajracharya

Technical Officer

Yubar is pursuing his career as a technical officer at Sunfarmer Nepal. He has a keen interest towards renewable energy solutions and believes solar energy is the key to eradicating the energy crisis in the world.
Yubar holds a bachelor’s degree in ‘Electrical & Electronics engineering’ from BMS college of engineering, Bangalore & where he had developed a ‘Smart solar priority renewable energy management system’ as his final project. Prior to joining Sunfarmer he was engaged at a cement plant gaining experience on working with industrial equipment, control systems & vast array of electronics & instruments. He has also actively volunteered with NGOs such PEEDA & CWIN.

Besides work Yubar enjoys photography, mountain biking & stresses on following a fit & healthy life style. He believes dreams & hard work lead to success.

Aditya Chauhan

Technical Manager

Aditya is an Electronics Engineer with experience in field of Hardware and system design. As an experienced electronics and communication engineer, he has undertaken numerous projects in design and development of Solar charge controller, MPPT circuit design, Battery management system (LiFePo4) to name a few. 

Pratistha Shrestha

Pratistha is a graduate from Kathmandu University, Nepal with a degree of B.Tech in Environmental Engineering. She has worked as Assistant Manager in the Rose Foundation Nepal (NGO). Pratistha was involved as an event co-ordinator for the World Environment Day 2016 organized by NSCS and FECAM, Kathmandu University.

Apart from work, Pratistha has a deep interest in photography, exploring new places and choreographing stage performances. 

Douglas Cox

Engineering Fellow

Douglas Cox works as an Engineering Fellow at the SunFarmer Nepal office and focuses on solar water pump product development. He has a background in energy systems modeling, hybrid and electric vehicle powertrains, and structural analysis.

Douglas grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and he has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Energy Systems from Georgia Tech. He enjoys reading, mountain and road biking, politics, and trying to learn Nepali.
